SYSTEM SOFTWARE vs APPLICATION SOFTWARE

As far as i have learn,software is a series of instructions that tells the computer what to do and how to do it.The are two categories of software, system software and application software.

System software consists of the programs that controls or maintain the operations of the computer and its devices. This software serves as the interface between the user, the application software and the the computer's hardware. There is two type of system software, operating system and utility programs. The first type is operating system. An operating system is a set of programs that coordinates all the activities among computer hardware devices. Second type is utility programs. It allow user to perform maintenance-type tasks usually related to managing a computer, its devices, or its programs.

Different from system software, application software consists of programs designed to make users more productive and/or assist them with personal tasks. Web browser is widely used type of application software which allows users with an Internet connection to access and view Web pages. Word processing software, spreadsheet software, database software and presentation graphics software are other popular application software. Application software has variety of tasks and uses :
1. personal information management
2. to make business activities more efficient
3. to facilitate communications
4. paint/image editing,audio and video editing.

Application software is available in a variety of forms : packaged, custom, Web-based, open sources, shareware, freeware, and public domain.

In conclusion, system software and application software are different in many ways but they need each other to carry out or perform a specific tasks.

INPUT AND OUTPUT

Computer process and organize data(input) into information(output).What is input and output?Input is any data and instructions entered into memory of a computer.An input device is any hardware component that allows users to enter data and instructions into a computer.There are variety of input devices.The keyboard and the mouse is two of the more used input devices.The mouse is a pointing device because it allows a user to control a pointer on the screen.There are three type of mouse that is mechanical mouse,mouse pad and optical mouse.A keyboard is an input device that contains keys users press to enter data and instructionsinto a computer.Touch screen,digital pen,RFID Reader and biometric input is examples of input devices.
Output is data that has been processed into a useful form.An output device is any hardware component that conveys information to one or more people.Output devices include display devices, printer, speaker, headphone, earphone,fax machine and fax modem and so on.A display device is an output device that visually conveys text, graphics and video information.Examples of display device is LCD monitor and screens, plasma monitor, and CRT monitors.Printers can produces text and graphics on a physical medium such as paper or transparency film.Types of printer is ink-jet printer, photo, laser, thermal, mobile, plotters and large format printer.Today,varies options of printing are available.Wireless printing technology makes the task of printing much easier.Two wireless technologies for printing are Bluetooth and infrared.It transmit output to a printer via waves.Some printers have a docking station,into which the user inserts the camera to print pictures stored in the camera.
A computer is a device that can process data into information.Data is a collection of unprocessed items,which can include text,numbers,images and video and information conveys meaning and is useful to people.

My Second Posting.

This is my second posting given by our CSC lecturer, Sir Shahdan. Sir Shahdan ask whether i agree if there are still have family that didn't have a computer at their home. Yes, apparently I agree. There are still families that dont have a computer at their house. This is because of the poverty they faces or lack of information about computer.

A computer is quite expensive and they can not afford to buy it. A computer cost about RM1000 and above. For people that come from a poor family, it is impossible to buy a computer with their average salary below RM500 a month. Eventhough they dont have computer at home, this not stopping them from surfing on the Internet and know about computer. Many cyber cafe serve accomodation related to computer with reasonable fees. At school, subject on computer have been taught to expose the uses of computers.

Not owning a computer doesn't stop anyone from learning computer. Computer plays an important role in our daily life. We use computer to surf on the internet, doing homeworks, works, personal timetable, business management and much more. Computer simplify and it's make our life easier. Computer indeed a part of our life.

Computer Perspective

Computer is an electronic device operating under the control of insdtructions stored in its own way.Computer can accept and process data and informations.Other than accept and process,computer also can store data and information for future uses.Nowadays,computer usage is important and every family have at least one computer at home.As day past by,computer has become more and more advance each day.Same goes with the technology.In addition,technology has rapidly increase to satisfied all the user.
